Vendor Biography

Hi! I’m Leanne of Leanne Creative and I am an illustrator based in London. I create unique, bold and colourful greeting cards that aim to inspire men, women and children from the African diaspora to think of themselves as royalty; reminding us to celebrate in style and think positively daily, as well as on special occasions. My Royalty collection was born after entering my very first design competition for Film Africa. This was an international competition to design the cover of the 2016 Film Africa event programme and my artwork was selected by industry professionals as one of the top three. It then went to public vote via social media where I came second place. My competition piece featured a black woman with an afro using polyvector illustration techniques and it was very well received. Many people felt drawn to this design and said it was rare to see women (and men) of ethnic minorities presented in this way in mainstream media or markets, so I decided to turn it into an empowering and inspiring greeting card and my mission has grown from there. I look forward to developing this range to inspire a new generation of royalty.
